Matthew Warner
Director
After graduating from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in 1996, I worked in consultant-based employment, which gave me a good grounding in both design and site-based work. I joined Hoare Lea’s London office in 1998 as I wanted to be a part of one of the top independently owned engineering practices within the UK.
Engineering human experiences.
I really enjoy the day-to-day challenge of working within our design teams to deliver workable and innovative project solutions. It’s very important to me that we continue to push the boundaries and stay at the forefront of technological and sector development. Being part of the proposed new Camden Lock Village project was a proud moment for me – it’s the first major area to be redeveloped in Camden and is rejuvenating one of London’s main visitor destinations.
Biggest engineering challenge.
Being part of the Earls Court Village team was a fantastic challenge. We had to plan the site-wide infrastructure services for the proposed new development around the constraints of the existing subterranean tunnels. We came to a solution after using a number of work streams to piece together the constraints and then worked with the design team to determine the best strategy possible.
