I’ve always been interested in renewable energy technologies and the built environment, so – after a very inspiring interview – I joined Hoare Lea. More than 30 years later, I have been involved with delivering projects across most sectors. Now a Partner of the firm, my job primarily involves winning work, resource management and project managing.
Engineering human experiences.
A significant proportion of the projects that I’ve worked on involved the health sector. I can say with confidence that we have positively affected the wellbeing of a large proportion of the people across the South West. This is due to the vast number of important and complex healthcare projects we’ve been involved with and our passion to do the very best we can on every single one.
Biggest engineering challenge.
I worked as project partner throughout our time as lead consultants for the refurbishment of seven operating theatres. Medical operations continued to be carried out, only a few metres away from the contractor’s works, while we managed a team of design professionals, contractors, clients and medical staff. We successfully delivered this by forming a team ethos, showing a level of dedication and responsibility that our collaborators were inspired to also adopt.
