The £440m redevelopment of the Westgate Centre in Oxford was a pioneering project in a myriad of ways – not least in shaping the future of retail design and construction, along with environmental commitment and community consultation.

Getting one of the largest schemes to be delivered in Oxford in more than 20 years through planning required a collaborative and considered effort from all involved. Landsec’s ambitious whole-life carbon target was pioneering – committing to reduce the amount of carbon produced from both the centre’s construction and from its first 30 years in operation.
